Day 1 2023

2023

Sunday 1st January

Parsons Bay Nubeena / Tasman Peninsula

A day on anchor.

The strong winds continued off and on during the night. Despite the conditions we slept very well.

The anchorage has been better than expected contrary to what the Cruising Southern Tasmanian book say’s. “Poor Holding”.

We took Kansas over to the jetty where we could tie up easily and took her for her usual ablutions.

Pear Shed Gallery

Dropped her off back at LaGecko and we continued over to the Pear Shed and Gallery for brunch. What a quaint possy with old furniture, kids toys and many different seating options scattered throughout the pear orchard to relax and enjoy the delicious food.

Brunch

Darren enjoyed time in the cockpit on his new beanbag watching the weather come and go, reading and generally relaxing. I got this diary going for the trip and hope to keep it going.

We took a very wet dingy ride in to the jetty in 30 plus knots to take the dog ashore. It can make it challenging when she refuses to do her business on the boat despite our many efforts to train/ persuade her.

The strong northerlies hammered the bay until midnight.

The internet is very poor here so a reading night was in order until the wind dropped down to 20 knts.
